China's efforts to foster new quality productive forces will boost the global economy and offer more cooperation opportunities for enterprises worldwide, said experts at the 15th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, which concluded in northeast China's Dalian on Thursday.
Featuring the theme "Next Frontiers for Growth," the three-day forum set a new record with over 200 innovative enterprises in attendance, while also witnessing the release of multiple reports and investment guides in cutting-edge technologies, green energy, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Officials at the forum stressed that international cooperation remains key to unlocking new opportunities in a transforming global industry.
"I'm from South Africa and there's an African saying that says, 'If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.' The world is made out of multi-cultures and we are one global family," said Michael Hillary, executive of the Development Bank of Southern Africa.
China's economic focus on quality growth was hailed at the Summer Davos as a critical driver for global economic growth.
"We need the private sectors to do cross-border investments and cross-border trades. And this is not just in the traditional sense of the infrastructures that we have been building, the EV ecosystem that we are trying to work together closer," said Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia.
"Because in China, it is such a large economy that there's an opportunity for almost everybody. And you can go to different geographies, different locations and actually customize or tailor the offerings and the product services to those different markets there," said Jeremy Jurgens, managing director of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The Summer Davos is held annually in China, alternating between the two port cities of Tianjin and Dalian, with next year's forum to take place in Tianjin.
