China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to advance all-round mutually-beneficial cooperation, said Chinese President Xi Jinping when meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Astana on Wednesday.

Speaking highly of progress made in bilateral cooperation since their last meeting, Xi reiterated China's support for Kyrgyzstan to follow its own development path, and called for further exchanges and cooperation.

"We held fruitful talks in Xi'an last May and reached consensus on China-Kyrgyzstan relations and cooperation in various fields. In over a year since then, these consensus have been effectively implemented, with good news about China-Kyrgyzstan cooperation frequently coming out. Good neighbors wish each other well. China welcomes a stable and developing Kyrgyzstan. China will, as always, firmly support Kyrgyzstan in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. China firmly supports Kyrgyzstan in pursuing a successful development path tailored to its national realities under the leadership of Mr. President, and firmly opposes interference in Kyrgyzstan's internal affairs by any forces, under any pretext. We stand ready to work together with Kyrgyzstan to build greater synergy between development strategies, expand state governance experience exchanges, and advance all-round mutually-beneficial cooperation," Xi said.

Xi arrived in the Kazakh capital on Tuesday to pay a state visit to the Central Asian state, and also to attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
