Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on Thursday for a state visit to the Central Asian country.
Xi arrived in Tajikistan after concluding a state visit to Kazakhstan where he attended the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana.
The state visit comes at the invitation of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and marks Xi's first trip to the country in five years.
During the visit, Xi and Rahmon will hold talks in which they are expected to have in-depth exchanges on bilateral relations, discussing key areas for cooperation, as well as issues of international and regional concern, while making new plans and arrangements for the future development of China-Tajikistan relations.
