A government-business dialogue event was held in the capital city of Shaanxi Province Xi'an on Tuesday, with the aim to attract more investment and promote more communication between businesses and governments at different levels.
Speaking at the event, representatives of competent Chinese government departments reaffirmed the country's commitment to further strengthening the opening-up policy.
"Not long ago, the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China convened its third plenary session. Over 300 reform and opening-up measures were adopted. This shows China is further strengthening its strategy of openness. China's market will be more open, and many sectors will be more accessible to foreign enterprises," said Ren Hongbin, chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
Representatives from dozens of renowned foreign and local companies participated the event, which was organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Shaanxi Provincial Government.
In their respective speeches delivered at the event, the participants highly commented on the opening-up policy.
"After the Third Plenary Session, China has officially entered a critical phase. We are very confident that there will be more opening-up measures in the future. Our company has been in China for 50 years and has no plans to leave. This, in itself, is the best vote of confidence," said Lu Haiqing, vice president and chief corporate affairs officer of the Greater China region of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
The third plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee was held in Beijing on July 15-18, during which a resolution on further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization was adopted.
The resolution, with economic structural reform as the spearhead, comprehensively plans reforms in various fields and aspects. It puts forward more than 300 important reform measures, all of which involve reforms on the levels of systems, mechanisms, and institutions.
