CMG holds special event to showcase China-Saudi Arabia ties

A special cultural event was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday to showcase ties between China and Saudi Arabia.

"Written in the Sky: My China Story" is a series of cultural events launched by China Media Group (CMG) in March 2024 to gather individual stories with China from around the world. The videos collected in the Middle East for the event were displayed at the event.

The participants at the event agreed that China's proposals of building a community with a shared future for mankind, Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative reflect China's responsibility of helping others to succeed while seeking its own success as a major country.

An AI music video produced by the CMG, named "Written in the sky: From Riyadh to Beijing", was also played at the event, which is the first time that the CMG has used the AI technology for audio and video creation in an overseas event.

On Thursday, Saudi Arabia's Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge, Gulf Radio and Television Organization for the Gulf Cooperation Council, Saudi Broadcasting Authority officially joined the CMG's global partner program of the special event.

Guests from the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the Saudi Broadcasting Authority, Saudi Arabia's Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge and other institutions expressed their congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The Russian Ministry of Defense on Friday announced multiple Ukrainian targets had been hit during the past week, while on the same day Ukraine said they repelled various Russian attacks.

The Russian Ministry of Defense on Friday released a weekly war report, stating that from Sept. 14 to 20, the Russian military carried out 27 cluster strikes on Ukrainian military industrial facilities, energy support facilities, military airports, and drone storage sites using high-precision weapons and attack drones.

In addition, the Russian military also hit Ukrainian ammunition depots, logistics warehouses, weapons and military equipment maintenance bases, military trains carrying foreign weapons, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.

On the same day, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that 123 battles occurred on Friday, with the Russian military being most active in the direction of Kurakhove, where about a third of the battles took place. In the direction of Kharkov, the Russian military attacked Ukrainian positions in the Volchansk region. In the direction of Pokrovsk, the Russian military launched 21 attacks on Ukrainian positions, with 16 of them already repelled.
