The China International Intelligent Communication Forum 2024, co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the provincial government of Jiangsu, was held in Wuxi City on Thursday.

Themed "New Horizons, Intelligent Development," the event brought together industry experts and corporate representatives to discuss how intelligent communication leads the new development of media, and how to transform new quality productive forces into communication capabilities and the guidance role of media.

President of the Constitutional Council of France Laurent Fabius and former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin delivered a video message to the event.

The attendees said as this year has witnessed the explosive growth and blowout application of intelligent technology, the forum is not only an event of the industry focusing on sci-tech and communication, but also serves as an important platform for in-depth discussions on global cooperation and development.

This year, CMG has launched its first artificial intelligence big model for audiovisual media content production and upgraded its algorithm for personalized content recommendations. The group has also applied its innovative technologies and products to its coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The national broadcaster has been strongly committed to promoting intelligent communication and outlined its vision to develop into a leading global media force as well as build a new platform for exchanges.

At the forum, CMG's integrated video content broadcasting platform cctv.com signed agreements with the Wuxi Municipal People's Government and the China Research Institute of Film Science and Technology on cooperation in the fields such as the intelligent film, television shooting and production park as well as the building of the digital factory.

A number of contracts on cultural industry projects in Wuxi City were also signed.

CMG documentary "Wuxi: A City for Music Lovers and the Capital of Traditional Chinese Music" was launched at the event.

This year's China International Intelligent Communication Forum also held a "Global Youth Roundtable" event, inviting experts, scholars and youth representatives from around the world to have in-depth discussions on mutual learning of civilizations and international cooperation in the context of artificial intelligence technology.

AIIB expands global membership to 110

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has grown to 110 approved members after its Board of Governors voted in support of the application by the Republic of Nauru on Thursday during the bank's ninth annual meeting.

The ninth annual meeting of the AIIB was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan from Wednesday to Thursday, marking the first time that the AIIB has held its flagship event in Central Asia.

Running under the theme "Building Resilient Infrastructure for All", this year's annual meeting focused on key issues, including infrastructure development, multilateral cooperation, regional interconnectivity and response to global challenges such as climate change.

"The Bank's climate financing was scheduled to reach 50 percent by 2025, but we have achieved that target two years ago, and we will continue to finance more. In terms of promoting regional connectivity, we will contribute more to the regional and global integration, or the cross-border interconnectivity in other words," said AIIB's president Jin Liqun.

The AIIB also focuses developing green economy, achieving sustainable growth and promoting the construction of infrastructure through digital technologies, according to Jin.

The Board of Governors of the AIIB announced at a ceremony marking the end of the ninth AIIB annual meeting that the bank's 10th Annual Meeting will be held in Beijing in June 2025 and Lan Foan, the AIIB Governor for China and also China's Minister of Finance will be the Chair of the AIIB Board of Governors for 2025.

Beginning operations in Beijing in January 2016, the AIIB is a multilateral development bank whose mission is to finance infrastructure projects that prioritize sustainability. The bank has approved financing of over 50 billion U.S. dollars for around 300 projects since its inception.
