Russia said on Wednesday its troops had captured one more settlement in Ukraine's Donetsk region, while Ukraine reported engaging in nearly 60 battles with the Russian military on the frontlines.

In the daily report on its special military operation, the Russian Ministry of Defense said the Russian forces gained control of the Verkhny Kamenskoye settlement in the Donetsk region.

The Russian military targeted Ukrainian military personnel and weapons such as howitzers in the area of responsibility, and its air defense forces shot down 32 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a total of 57 combat clashes on the same day.

The Russian forces launched 11 offensives in the direction of Pokrovsk, with eight of them repelled, and three battles were still ongoing, said the Ukrainian side.

Three people were killed and three others injured on Wednesday as an Israeli airstrike hit a three-story building in the Mazzeh Western Villas neighborhood of Damascus, the capital of Syria.

"We're now at the site of an Israeli air attack that targeted a residential building in Mazzeh neighborhood on the southwestern outskirts of the capital Damascus. The targeted building, as we can see, is a three-story building, whose first and the ground floor were destroyed. The area actually is a very densely populated area, and as we can see civil defense teams are still in the place working to remove the rubbles," said CCTV reporter Haifa.

"I heard two explosions of the missiles. There was a loud bang and the glass of the windows in my house shattered. Our neighbors' shops and civilian homes were damaged. They are all civilians. I know them," said a local resident who witnessed the air-strike.

On Tuesday morning, an Israeli attack near the neighborhood killed three civilians and injured nine others.

Back in January, a previous Israeli strike on the neighborhood killed 13 people, including five Iranians.

The neighborhood, which houses several diplomatic missions and high-profile residences, has been targeted by Israel in the past strikes as it is believed to host the commanders of Iranian and Palestinian factions.

The Israeli Defense Forces have not commented on the latest attack so far.
