Chinese embassies in various countries, including Germany, Slovakia, Syria and Chile, held grand receptions recently to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) that fell on Tuesday.

In Berlin, the Chinese embassy on Tuesday hosted a reception that highlighted the strong diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Attendees including German officials extended warm congratulations on the big day and hailed China's social and economic achievements over the past 75 years.

"We're willing to work with China to take on our responsibilities in the fields of peace and security and make combined efforts to address other major challenges in international politics," said Thomas Bagger, state secretary of the Federal Foreign Office.

"I've been to China several times in recent years, and witnessed its development firsthand. What particularly impresses me is the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. The core of the vision is undoubtedly peace. I'm deeply impressed by China's tremendous progress in its national economy," said Egon Krenz, former general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Germany.

Over 400 guests, including people from all walks of life in Slovakia and foreign diplomats based in the country, attended the reception held by the Chinese embassy on Monday.

Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia Cai Ge said the bilateral relationship has been developing and growing steadily, adding that China stands ready to continuously promote pragmatic cooperation with Slovakia.

While addressing the event, Slovak deputy parliament speaker Tibor Gaspar expressed the hope that the friendly relations between Slovakia and China will continue to grow.

"I believe that China has clearly demonstrated its capacity for development over the past 75 years and the significant achievements made during this process. Today's China has become a leader in global economy and technology. I'm confident that we can learn from Chinese technology, attract Chinese investment, and maintain high-standard relations with China to become strategic partners, which can lead to a win-win situation," he said.

Nearly 300 people from the Chinese embassy in Syria and the Syrian government celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the PRC in Damascus on Sunday, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two nations.

During the reception, Chinese Ambassador to Syria Shi Hongwei underscored China's rapid development over the past 75 years.

The Chinese envoy also reaffirmed the country's support for Syria, condemning foreign interference and unilateral sanctions.

"The vision of China is a peaceful world, common and joint development, common and joint security, common and joint integrity. And this in itself is a great, great addition to world system," said Bouthaina Shaaban, special advisor to the Syrian Presidency.

The Chinese embassy in Chile on Monday held a National Day reception featuring a presentation showcasing China's achievements over the past 75 years and the profound impact of its modernization drive on global prosperity.

More than 500 people including Chilean high-ranking officials, representatives from all walks of life and overseas Chinese were invited to the reception.

Yalu River estuary in northeast China's Liaoning Province is a key biodiversity conservation area in China providing habitats for migratory birds and dozens of endangered species.

Situated at the northern edge of the Yellow Sea Ecoregion, the Yalu River estuary in Dandong, Liaoning Province is a crucial stopover site for birds migrating along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway which spans more than 20 countries and regions from the Arctic to Southeast Asia and Australasia.

Staff at the Dandong Yalu River Estuary National Nature Reserve are conducting research on the quantity, species, and spatial distribution of migratory waterbirds as they arrive here during their autumn migration.

"By doing these surveys we can understand the waterbirds' migration patterns, food chains and food distribution. We can also track these birds via satellite to monitor their migration routes and timings within the migratory area," said Ma Li from the nature reserve.

Ma added that the reserve has conducted surveys on northbound waterbirds for 26 consecutive years. The number of migratory birds being surveyed can reach 60,000 to 80,000 during the autumn migration.

As well as being a stopover site for migratory birds, Yalu River estuary also contributes to biodiversity conservation by providing vital habitats for endangered species within the region.

Preserving the typical coastal wetland landscape of East Asia, the Dandong Yalu River Estuary National Nature Reserve accommodates most species of the Liaodong Peninsula in northeast China, thus maintaining the richness and diversity of wildlife.

The nature reserve is home to 453 species of plants, 324 species of birds, more than 80 species of nektons, amphibians, reptiles and mammals.

"In terms of global biodiversity conservation, the Yalu River Estuary Wetland in Dandong supports the survival and development of nearly 20 rare and endangered species in the world. Therefore, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this location holds significant importance," said Lei Guangchun, a professor from Beijing Forestry University.

The Yalu River estuary is one of the Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of the Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China (Phase II) which was included in UNESCO's World Heritage List on July 26.
