The Beibu Gulf Port in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region welcomed its first-ever China-Europe freight train from Minsk in Belarus on Tuesday.

The train, loaded with 3,240 tons of imported potash fertilizer, covered a distance of 11,341 kilometers on its 20 day journey through Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan before crossing into China via Alashankou, a land port located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Upon arrival, the imported potash fertilizer was stored and transferred at the Liujing operation area of Nanning Port, a subsidiary of the Beibu Gulf Port Group.

Based on customer orders and market demand, the fertilizer will be distributed in batches to support agricultural production across the country.

It is anticipated that an additional 7,000 tons of potash fertilizer from Belarus will be transported to Nanning Port by China-Europe freight train in the fourth quarter of this year.

CMG launches live broadcasts and videos showcasing Xizang via bus tour

2024-10-10 00:23 Last Updated At:05:17

China Media Group (CMG) on Wednesday launched a multimedia series featuring bus tour through Xizang Autonomous Region in southwest China, exploring and reporting on its beauty and development along the way.

From October 11, the bus will travel along National Highway 318 through Xizang, showcasing the region's stunning natural landscapes, rich historical and cultural heritage, diverse ethnic customs, and its spirit of inclusiveness and openness.

Since "paired-up assistance" to Xizang was initiated in 1994 to rally support for the region, Beijing has sent over 1,280 people to the snowy plateau to support its development.

Under the "paired-up assistance" program, some central state organs, provincial-level regions and centrally administered state-owned enterprises have been designated to assist in specific areas of Xizang, injecting strong impetus into the development of the plateau region.

CMG alone has sent 10 groups of 14 professionals to Xizang, offering support in key areas such as news and current affairs reporting, talent cultivation, technical equipment, poverty alleviation and agricultural assistance.
