China's top anti-graft official urges new progress in improving conduct, building integrity, and combating corruption so as to further deepen reform comprehensively and advance Chinese modernization.

Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), made the remarks during an inspection tour of north China's Tianjin Municipality from Monday to Wednesday.

During his tour, Li visited Tianjin Port Second Container Terminal Company, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Engineering Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base, Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City and Tieke Huatie Jingwei (Tianjin) Information Technology Company to learn about opinions on improving conduct, enforcing discipline, and combating corruption.

High-quality development is the primary task in building China into a modern socialist country in all respects, Li stressed.

All areas and all departments should fully and faithfully apply the new development philosophy on all fronts, move faster to create a new pattern of development and develop new quality productive forces in light of local conditions, Li added.

At the Dahuangbao Wetland Nature Reserve, Li said there must be serious investigation and punishment of violations of discipline and law found in areas concerning ecological and environmental protection.

Li stressed full and rigorous self-governance during his visits to Tianjin University and Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park, and urged actions to tackle misconduct and corruption so as to enhance the well-being of residents when he visited a village in Jinnan District.

He also chaired a symposium where he asked disciplinary inspection and supervisory organs to actively fulfill their roles as he learned about their opinions on future work.

Li also visited the Memorial to Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao, a museum set up in honor of the former premier and his wife, a leading female revolutionary. He encouraged officials to draw strength from the spirit of revolutionary predecessors.
