A number of high-tech and high value-added products were unveiled at the ongoing Canton Fair in south China's Guangdong Province, attracting the attention of a large number of merchants from home and abroad.
Over 30,000 enterprises from both home and abroad showcased some 1.15 million new products at the 136th session of the China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, which kicked off on Tuesday in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province.
In the home appliance exhibition area, a humanoid robot attracted the attention of many as soon as it made appearance. It can shake hands, practice Tai Chi, and pose for photos.
Compared to the small tricks, the applications of the robot impressed more merchants. The producer of the product UBTECH Robotics said that the robot product integrates a number of key technologies independently developed by the company, and the combination of robotics technology and artificial intelligence makes it more applicable in life and production.
"It's a very interesting robot, and this robot can be used in some factories. So we are looking for some innovative products," said a merchant from Russia.
"Our robots have achieved operational capabilities, such as grasping. We have carried out a series of exploration in industrial scenarios, service scenarios, and household scenarios. At the exhibition, we displayed consumer-grade robot products, including swimming pool cleaning robots, household cleaning robots, and robot products for pets," said Pang Jianxin, vice president of UBTECH Robotics.
In addition to humanoid robots, many other high-tech products such as new smart devices, unmanned smart sweepers, and smart mobile disinfection robots were also unveiled at the event.
"We hope to meet more customers through the Canton Fair and learn more about the technical requirements and standards of other countries. For example, a hotel in Japan is consulting us and they hope to use our product to contact customers in the hotel. We are currently negotiating," said Xiao Yanmei, general manager of another robot company.
"I think that they (the products) are very in front of the rest of the world. For example, these robots are the future, so I am very impressed. Their robot delivery can attend my business in Brazil," said a merchant from Brazil.
The Canton Fair actively adapts to the trend of digital and green development in international trade. At the event this year, there are more than 8,700 booths related to topics such as new energy vehicles and smart travel, industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, and about 3,600 exhibitors from the field of digital technology and other related fields.
