A range of new energy products have been unveiled at the ongoing Canton Fair in south China's Guangdong Province, attracting the attention of a large number of global merchants.
Over 30,000 enterprises from both home and abroad showcased some 1.15 million new products at the 136th session of the China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, which kicked off on Tuesday in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong. In the new energy exhibition area, an energy storage company showcased a new photovoltaic energy storage inverter. Utilizing innovative technology, this product enables countries and regions with underdeveloped power grids to more effectively utilize photovoltaic energy storage systems in off-grid conditions. So far, over 100 potential customers have discussed cooperation with the company.
According to the exhibitor, the technology could even play into the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, which focuses on building up connectivity and infrastructure across the globe.
"At present, most of the customers seeking consultation primarily come from Belt and Road partner countries, and the installation of photovoltaics is a very important trend for the future. We are launching many new products to meet the power demands of our customers. We expect orders to increase by at least 50 percent, and potentially even by 100 percent, in the next two years," said Xue Tianbing, an exhibitor.
More than 4,200 quality enterprises are participating at this year's fair -- an increase of 1,200 compared to last year. They include national high-tech enterprises, manufacturing champions in specific sectors, and "little giant" enterprises that apply specialized techniques to produce unique and innovative products.
Among the exhibitors, more than 57 percent have utilized big data, artificial intelligence, the industrial internet, and other technical tools to transform and upgrade their industrial chains, while nearly 56 percent of the enterprises held patents for designs, utility, and inventions in the green and low-carbon fields.
An increasing number of high-tech, value-added products that drive the green and low-carbon transformation have attracted the attention of global merchants at the Canton Fair.
"Chinese products are the best in the world. And for sure in this field, there is no competition. China completely dominates the electric vehicles market, not only for the number, but also for the quality," said Loriot Marco, an Italian attendee.
"I think China changed a lot during these past years, decades. China and the companies in China invested a lot in the innovation and being in the first positions in the world in their fields," said Diago Matthaus, a Portuguese merchant.
