Major enterprises in China's cultural sector and related business fields saw a stable increase in revenue and profits in the first three quarters of this year, official data showed on Wednesday.
The cultural enterprises above the designated size raked in nearly 9.97 trillion yuan (about 1.4 trillion U.S. dollars) in business revenue from January to September, up 5.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
The data also show that the firms' profits rose 3.9 percent year on year to 790.3 billion yuan (about 110.9 billion U.S. dollars) in the first nine months.
Notably, companies featuring new business forms in the sector saw rapid growth in the first three quarters. The firms generated over 4.16 trillion yuan (about 580 billion U.S. dollars) in revenue in the nine-month period, up 10 percent year on year, and contributing 68.2 percent to the overall revenue growth of all cultural enterprises above the designated size.
In China, enterprises above the designated size refer to those each with an annual main business revenue of 20 million yuan (about 2.8 million U.S. dollars) or more.
