The upcoming 7th China International Import Exhibition (CIIE), which is set to take place from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, is committed to "zero carbon" and "zero plastic" standards, with its preparation work nearly complete.
According to the organizers, all the CIIE preparation work will be finished by Saturday, and by now, the frameworks of the most of the stands and booths have been built. Aiming for a greener expo, natural materials and recycled materials are widely adopted to guarantee a 100 percent recycle rate for construction materials and an environment-friendly exhibition.
Another notable improvement in the setup is the installation of over 1,500 temporary signs and 172 functional spots, aimed at making it more convenient for the participants.
""(The signs) include general information boards, exhibitor lists, navigation signs, evacuation signs, and more. For the 7th CIIE, we have focused on designing the sign system with the exhibitor experience in mind, trying to find better ways to display the signs, make them more functional, and have them better guide participants. We hope that the signs can provide more accurate exhibition and service info," said Liu Qijia, manager of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Cooperation Management Center.
In addition to the primary structures and interiors, around 2,700 exhibitors have set up their exhibits, with some of the event's "giant" attractions ready for guests.
The largest CIIE exhibit, a manned vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) electric aircraft, was transported to the exhibition center in a container on Wednesday. The aircraft, measuring 15 meters in width, 10 meters in length, and 3 meters in height, is fully electric powered, with a maximum speed of 200 kilometers per hour and five seats equipped. And this is only a part of the 92 exhibits from 26 global exhibitors in the automobile sector, with many of the transportations to be showcased in China for the first time.
Another CIIE giant, a 3.1-meter-long, 274-kilogram bluefin tuna arrived at Shanghai Pudong Airport on Wednesday night. Dubbed the "tuna king," it is the heaviest among all bluefin tunas ever displayed at the CIIE, further underscoring the expo's diverse showcase of international exhibits.
The seventh CIIE has attracted participants from 152 countries, regions and international organizations, and achieved a new record with 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders set to attend.
Since its first edition in 2018, the expo has become an important showcase, spotlighting China's new development paradigm, a platform for high-standard opening up, and an opportunity for the whole world.
