The China International Import Expo (CIIE) presents an important platform and an unparalleled opportunity for global companies to boost cooperation and enter China's vast market, said a senior executive of a Japanese global chemical and cosmetics company.
In an exclusive interview with China Central Television (CCTV), Daisuke Hamada, an executive officer of Japan's Kao Corp., said his company will leverage the CIIE to boost its cooperation with Chinese agricultural professionals in building up green agricultural practices.
The seventh CIIE opens on Tuesday in Shanghai for a six-day run, with nearly 3,500 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions gearing up to showcase their latest products and technologies, aiming to tap into China's vast market potential.
Kao Corporation is attending the import exhibition for the seventh time. Kao Chemicals, the company's chemical division, has partnered with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences for three years. At this year's expo, it will showcase its latest chemical materials and chemical synthesis technologies.
"This year, we will continue to exhibit under the theme "coexistence with beauty", focusing on three areas: household products, cosmetics, and chemicals. In the chemical sector, we will focus on agriculture, continuing our strategy of increasing food production and supporting eco-friendly farming. We will present products and solutions that meet the new needs of agricultural professionals," said Hamada.
The CIIE gives Kao a wide platform to display their products and a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insight into the needs of their Chinese customers, according to the executive officer.
"The CIIE provides an opportunity for relevant industries in China to gain a deeper understanding of us. It's an unparalleled and the best chance for us. Besides, on the final day of the expo, we will have the opportunity to engage directly with the public, gaining insights into market demands. It is very beneficial for our product development to master and use such experience flexibly," he said.
Hamada also emphasized that Kao harbors plans for further expansion in China, as it's optimistic about China's vast market potential.
"China is undoubtedly the largest market, with a huge consumer base and continuous advancements in cutting-edge technologies. China is leading the development of cutting-edge technologies and the global market. Staying attuned to the needs of the Chinese market is one of our policies," he said.
