The 2024 China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai has attracted a record-breaking level of participation in its seventh year, continuing the expo's legacy as a symbol of China's new development model and an international public good shared by the world.

As the world's first national-level import-themed professional trade fair, the CIIE has showcased around 2,500 new products, technologies and services since its first iteration in 2018. The items include food, agricultural goods, automobiles, medical equipment, and healthcare products.

Over 420 billion U.S. dollars worth of intended transactions have been inked in the past six exhibitions. Additionally, over 1,130 foreign enterprises and investment promotion organizations have conducted targeted connections across the country.

This year, the CIIE continues to expand its international scope, welcoming 152 countries, regions, and international organizations. The total exhibition area of the seventh CIIE exceeds 420,000 square meters.

The event has also welcomed France, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, and Uzbekistan as this year's guest countries of honor. The business exhibition this year maintains its massive scale of over 360,000 square meters, equivalent to 50 standard soccer fields, attracting 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions.

Both the numbers of participating countries and exhibitors have surpassed previous records.

Notably, 297 exhibitors from Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders attend the expo this year, marking a historic high. Among all participants, 186 enterprises and institutions have achieved full attendance across all seven editions of the expo.

This year's CIIE is also commanding the attention of global journalism. More than 400 media outlets are participating in the coverage of this event, including 220 foreign media organizations.
