The trade in services exhibition area of the ongoing 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) highlights services with growth momentum and innovative potential, which is in line with the national industrial development needs, head of the exhibition area Sang Ziying said.
The CIIE is the world's first national-level exhibition dedicated to imports. Running from Nov. 5 to 10 under the theme of "New Era, Shared Future," the 7th CIIE has attracted participants from 152 countries, regions and international organizations to participate in its country exhibition and business exhibition.
New quality productive forces and innovation are set to be major themes at the 7th CIIE, with the Trade in Services area showcasing services related to computational power and digital supply chains.
Sang shared the exhibition layout concept and highlights of the section.
"This year the services trade exhibition area remains at 3,000 square meters and features over 300 companies, including nearly 50 Fortune 500 companies. Here we have brought together elements encompassing four dimensions of business flow, logistics, capital flow, and information flow, and set up dedicated sections for finance, consulting, culture and tourism, and trade logistics, with all maintaining a high standard. This year our exhibition is in line with the national industrial development needs for cultivating new quality productive forces, as we have introduced service products with growth momentum and innovative potential. Each section has been expanded to support the new quality productive forces," Sang said.
She went on introducing the key features of services sub-sections.
In the consulting section, we have highlighted computational power services for the first time by adding telecom and information services to support the high-quality growth of emerging industries. In the supply chain section, topics such as the China-Europe Railway Express and digital logistics showcase our commitment to building the Silk Road E-Commerce Cooperation Platform. In culture and tourism field, we have introduced high-quality global resources to boost Chinese brands' presence internationally and maximize the trade promotion function of the exhibition economy," Sang said.
Sang said as an organizer, she is happy to witness the ever stronger role of CIIE in bringing Chinese and overseas businesses closer together over the years.
"During the fourth CIIE, we debuted overseas IPs such as Minions, Pikachu and the British Museum. As part of our theme to broaden cultural offerings, we also hosted a salon themed 'Overseas IPs meet Chinese national trending culture', connecting historic Chinese brands with these global IPs. A memorable moment came at the following year's CIIE, when a representative from the Jiangsu provincial department of commerce shared that Minions had successfully partnered with a local betting company. This showed us the impact of our work, where exhibitors became investors and exhibits were transformed into products. That was a deeply moving moment for me," she said.
