Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited the Wuhan Institute of Industrial Innovation and Development on Tuesday afternoon during his inspection tour in central China's Hubei Province.
During his visit, Xi viewed displays showing successful sci-tech innovation supply chain platforms and their achievements, learned about measures taken to advance sci-tech innovation, and held in-depth discussions with researchers and company leaders.
Established in April 2022, the institute is committed to advancing technological innovation and promoting industry integration, with a focus on meeting innovation demands in key sectors such as optoelectronics, life sciences, and high-end equipment manufacturing.
It has collaborated with leading universities and institutions at home and abroad, and with esteemed academicians, expert teams, and core enterprises.
The institute's work spans five key platforms focusing on technology system reform, entrepreneurial investment, technology incubation and outcome transformation, talent development, and intellectual property protection and productive services, aiming to facilitate the conversion of high-level research achievements into tangible outcomes.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's latest visit to Ireland was a complete success, which deepens the two countries' strategic partnership for mutually beneficial cooperation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday.
At the invitation of Ireland's Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Harris, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, paid a visit to the European country from Sunday to Monday.
"This visit came as Ireland's new government was formed. Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Irish Taoiseach Micheal Martin and held talks with Irish Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Harris. China has already published relevant information. This visit was a complete success, further advancing the China-Ireland strategic partnership for mutually beneficial cooperation," Guo said at a regular press briefing in Beijing.
"China appreciates Ireland's positive, pragmatic, and friendly policy towards China and stands ready to work with Ireland to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and to be partners based on mutual trust, mutual respect and mutual support. The Irish side said it attaches great importance to and values its relationship with China, adheres to the one-China policy, and is committed to strengthening a positive and constructive partnership," he said.
"Both sides applauded the achievements of bilateral cooperation in trade, education, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges while expressing their willingness to expand high-level cooperation," said the spokesman.
The Irish side is optimistic about the significant opportunities that China's push for modernization and accelerated green transformation will bring to the world, according to Guo.
"The two sides exchanged views on China-Europe relations and the international situation. They agreed to support deeper China-Europe cooperation, uphold multilateralism and free trade, safeguard the stability of industrial and supply chains, and jointly address global challenges," he said.
