China Hour, China Audiovisual Month launched in Peru

The launch ceremony for Peru's China Hour TV program and China Audiovisual Month was held in Lima, the capital of Peru, on Wednesday.

Guests from the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, China's National Radio and Television Administration, the Peruvian Congress, the Ministry of Education of Peru, and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Peru, along with business representatives from both countries, attended the event. In a congratulatory message, Eduardo Salhuana Cavides, president of the Congress of Peru, emphasized that with joint efforts, cultural exchanges between Peru and China will yield even more fruitful results and play an active role in enhancing mutual understanding and promoting friendly relations between the two peoples.

Peruvian Congressman Segundo Quiroz Barboza expressed his eagerness for the China Hour to become a new highlight in the cultural exchange between the two countries, fostering China-Peru cultural exchanges and cooperation.

Chinese guests expressed their willingness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Peru in management, industrial planning, program creation, technological research and development, and human resources training in the field of radio and television and online audiovisual.

The launch of China Hour will bring dozens of high-quality Chinese audiovisual programs, including The Three-Body Problem based on a novel by the Chinese science fiction author Liu Cixin, Minning Town which tells the story of people in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region getting out of poverty, and The Tale of Rose--a TV drama series telling the story of the heroine's growth, career and love from her teenage years to middle age, to the Peruvian audience.

The launch ceremony was steered by China's State Council Information Office and China's National Radio and Television Administration, and sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, the Chongqing Radio and Television Bureau, and the Culture and Cultural Heritage Committee of Congress of Peru.

The 2024 ASEAN Partner Media Cooperation Week opened in southern city of Guilin on Friday, gathering some 200 government officials, media professionals and scholars from China and ASEAN countries to explore media's role in strengthening regional cooperation.

Co-sponsored by China Media Group (CMG) and the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the event featured in-depth exchanges on the opening day revolving its theme "New Quality, Coexistence, Civilization."

The opening event launched the ASEAN Media Partners "China Up Close" Guangxi Tour, which involves journalists from mainstream media outlets of seven ASEAN countries teaming up with CMG and local media reporter to conduct in-depth reporting on Guangxi's high-quality development and tell stories of China's modernization to the world. A series of the latest achievements in CMG's cooperation with Guangxi were released at the opening event. CMG also launched a documentary on the Pinglu Canal, a part of China's new western land-sea corridor, and released the documentary Sweet Guangxi which takes the audience on a vivid journey to the colorful autonomous region.

The China-ASEAN Media Complex "Ethereal Sound ASEAN Audio Vivid," a new audio platform to promote China-ASEAN cultural exchange backed by CMG's technology, also opened on Friday.
