The Spanish version of the third season of "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping", a multilingual TV series produced by China Media Group (CMG), was launched in Peruvian capital Lima on Friday on the sidelines of the 31st Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting.

At the invitation of Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in the Peruvian capital on Thursday for the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, which was scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

Boluarte extended her congratulations and said the ceremony has once again consolidated the foundation of the long-lasting friendship between Peru and China.

She said the program not only builds a bridge for the Peruvian people, especially the younger generation of Peru, to understand China's long history and rich philosophy, but also demonstrates President Xi's active inheritance and development of China's 5,000-year-old civilization and his determination to integrate it into the practice of building a community with a shared future for mankind.

CMG President Shen Haixiong, Peruvian Culture Minister Fabricio Alfredo Valencia Gibaja, National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP) executive president Ninoska Chandia, and Andean Community secretary general Gonzalo Gutierrez Reinel delivered speeches at the ceremony and jointly launched the program with other guests and representatives on the stage.

Shen, also deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that from the history of overseas Chinese in Peru striving side by side with the Peruvian people more than 400 years ago, to the comprehensive and pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in various fields today, and to the mutually beneficial exchanges and learning among different civilizations, the exchanges and cooperation between China and Peru are precious and sincere.

Shen said that the program focuses on topics such as ecological protection, cultural heritage, exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and modernization, and introduces China's traditional ideological achievements and modern governance strategies to the people of the world based on quotes from Chinese literary classics used by Xi in his speeches and articles. This will further promote understanding and resonance between the people of the two countries, and add new brilliance to Chinese civilization and Inca civilization that have complemented each other in human history.

Shen also noted that the opening of the Chancay Port in Peru, another landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), heralds a bright future for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, and is also one of the key focus of the program.

Gibaja said that he was pleasantly surprised to read Xi's signed article of "China-Peru Friendship: Setting Sail toward an Even Brighter Future" published on Peruvian media outlet El Peruano on Thursday, where Xi not only mentioned the development process of China as a country with a thousands-year-old civilization, but also showed his in-depth understanding of ancient Peruvian civilization such as Caral, Chavín, Chimú, and Inca.

The Peruvian Ministry of Culture is willing to further strengthen cultural exchanges with China, deepen friendly cooperation with CMG, and deepen the mutual learning and mutual benefits between the two civilizations and enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries based on the well-made program, according to Gibaja.

Chandia said the classic quotes are a reflection of Chinese wisdom for thousands of years, which transcend national boundaries and echo the common values of justice, solidarity and respect in the world, which are also respected by Peru, and the program will further deepen the friendship between Peru and China and promote the mutual understanding between their people.

Quoting Xi's visionary remarks on cultural exchanges between China and Latin America and the ancient Chinese saying of "bringing benefit to the people is the fundamental principle of governance" cited by Xi in his published article, Reinel said the program vividly demonstrated Xi's outstanding political wisdom and profound historical and cultural heritage, and said he hoped that the broadcast of this program in Peru will further promote the friendship between Peru and China and open a new chapter in the relationship between the Andean Community and China. In his video speech, Chinese Ambassador to Peru Song Yang said that this year, Xi pointed out during his talks with Boluarte in Beijing that the two countries are both ancient civilizations, the friendship between the two countries has a long history, and the friendship between their people is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and therefore, Xi's works on state governance are widely popular in Peru.

The Chinese Embassy in Peru is willing to take this important event as an opportunity to conduct exchanges with the Peruvian media, intellectuals, and the general public, and deeply understand and fully implement Xi's vision to promote overall cooperation between China and Latin America and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, said Song in his video speech.

Focusing on the themes of cultural inheritance, ecological civilization, poverty alleviation, and exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, the program features quotes from Chinese literary classics used by Xi in his speeches and articles, and allows overseas audiences to understand Xi's outstanding political wisdom and profound historical and cultural learning as well as the new dimensions and global value contained in the profound Chinese traditional culture.

The program is now airing on major Peruvian platforms, including IRTP, Panamericana Television and Latina Television.

Leading outlets such as El Peruano, Andina News Agency and La Republica have also covered the launch.

Nearly 200 guests from Peru's political, economic, cultural, media and academic sectors attended the premiere.

China remains largest global logistics market, shifts focus to efficiency

2024-11-16 21:23 Last Updated At:21:37

China continues to lead the world in logistics demand, with a growing industry now focused on improving quality and efficiency, according to an official with the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) at an academic conference on Saturday.

The 2024 China Logistics Academy Annual Conference, held from Friday to Sunday in Langfang City of north China's Hebei Province, brings together experts and scholars in the logistics sector for discussions across 11 sub-forums.

He Liming, head of the CFLP, told the conference that China remains the world's largest logistics market, with the sector seeing considerable growth.

The country is home to over 10,000 A-level logistics companies and 2,700 logistics parks spanning over 100,000 square meters. The emerging system of logistics corridors, hubs, and networks is streamlining operations and fostering greater efficiency in the sector.

Companies are increasingly embracing new technologies and business models, with smart logistics leading the charge in shaping the future of the industry.

In the first three quarters of this year, the ratio of social logistics costs to GDP stood at 14.1 percent, reflecting a 0.1 percentage point drop from the first half of the year and a 0.2 percentage point decrease compared to the same period last year, signaling a steady decline in overall logistics costs.

"Overall, China's logistics industry is transitioning from rapid expansion in scale to a new phase centered on enhancing quality and efficiency. This shift requires the development of new quality productive forces to meet and create new demands. By adjusting industrial structure and promoting reforms, China aims to reduce logistics costs nationwide and accelerate the transition from a logistics giant to a global logistics leader," He said.

He also pointed out that China's vast logistics industry provides essential support for developing new quality productive forces. In recent years, smart logistics has surged, driving the emergence of a number of prominent digital logistics platforms. For example, China currently has over 3,000 online freight platforms, illustrating the deep convergence of the digital and real economies fueled by the integration of massive data and diverse application scenarios.
