The Baiyin Yellow River super major bridge, a key project of the Shichuan Interchange link road in northwest China's Gansu Province, was completed on Saturday, marking a significant milestone toward the full operation of the road.
Spanning 1,162 meters, the bridge is located in Yuzhong County, where the site's geological complexity, including liquefied soil in the Yellow River alluvial plain, posed significant engineering challenges.
Throughout construction, the team overcame numerous obstacles to ensure the smooth completion of this major infrastructure project.
The 37.2-kilometer Shichuan Interchange link road on the G30 Lianyungang–Khorgas Expressway serves as a vital arterial route, connecting Lanzhou City, the provincial capital of Gansu, with surrounding regions.
Once operational, it is expected to improve the regional road network in Lanzhou and Baiyin to the east, alleviate traffic congestion, and promote high-quality economic development in both regions.
The 4,395-kilometer G30 Lianyungang–Khorgas Expressway, also known as the Lianhuo Expressway, is the longest expressway in China. It links Lianyungang, a coastal city in east China's Jiangsu Province, with Khorgas port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
