China will continue to promote ceasefire and peace talks in northern Myanmar and stands ready to provide support for the peace process of the region, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning at a regular press conference in Beijing on Tuesday.
Mao made the remarks in response to a media query about the current situation on northern Myanmar.
"As a friendly neighbor of Myanmar, China has been following closely the developments in the country, including northern Myanmar. We are firmly opposed to wars and turbulence in Myanmar and sincerely hope that stability will be restored as soon as possible in the country. We have been committed to urging relevant parties in northern Myanmar to stop the fighting, resolve issues through dialog and consultation, and make joint efforts to realize the soft landing of the situation in northern Myanmar. China will continue to actively promote talks for peace and provide support and assistance within its means to the peace process of northern Myanmar," said Mao.

The second China International Supply Chain Expo, running in Beijing from Tuesday to Saturday, has drawn widespread attention from global business leaders for its role in boosting international trade and investment cooperation, while bolstering supply chain resilience.

Denton AO, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce.
"This is definitely a global event. China is one of the largest countries that has a lot of opportunities in the supply chain. The position is really important. So this is definitely, you see around, there's a lot of international business people in this event," said Shirley Yu, Group General Manager of Visa Greater China.
Themed "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," the expo anticipates a robust turnout as registered visitors are pouring in from over 100 countries and regions. Notably, approximately 80 esteemed overseas buyer delegations will come to the expo, far more than that at the first expo.
