PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Evan Svoboda threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to John Michael Gyllenborg with 24 seconds remaining to rally Wyoming to a 15-14 victory over Washington State on Saturday night in the Cowboys' season finale.
Wyoming (3-9) only scored on John Hoyland field goals covering 40, 22 and 42 yards, respectively, in each of the first three quarters until Svoboda's game-winning toss.
John Mateer fired a 37-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Williams on Washington State's second possession to put the Cougars up 7-0. Wyoming answered with Hoyland's first field goal with 4 seconds left and trailed 7-3.
The Cougars took a 14-3 lead at the 9:32 mark of the second quarter when Mateer finished off a 10-play 74-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run. Ethan Day recovered a Mateer fumble at the Wyoming 35-yard line with 51 seconds left before halftime. Svoboda drove the Cowboys to the Cougars' 5-yard line before settling for Hoyland's short field goal on the final play and an eight-point deficit at intermission.
Hoyland's final field goal was the only score of the third quarter and finished off a 14-play drive to get Wyoming within five points. The Cougars went three-and-out twice in the period and ran just 12 plays.
Svoboda's touchdown pass came at the end of a 14-play 90-yard drive that began with 3:38 left to play.
Svoboda finished with 206 yards on 21-for-34 passing with one interception for Wyoming.
Mateer completed 16 of 22 passes for 182 yards with one interception for the Cougars (8-4), who await a bowl-game opponent. He carried 18 times for 56 yards.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Jalen Johnson had 20 points and nine assists, De’Andre Hunter added 18 points and the Atlanta Hawks handed the Charlotte Hornets their fifth straight loss 107-104 on Saturday night.
Onyeka Okongwu added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks, who have won three straight. Trae Young and No. 1 overall draft pick Zaccharie Risacher each had 14 points.
Brandon Miller finished with 32 points for the Hornets and Josh Green added 17.
Miller’s 3-pointer cut Atlanta’s lead to one, but Hunter answered with two free throws with 9.7 seconds left. Charlotte had a chance to tie but Miller missed an off-balance 3 and Okongwu grabbed the rebound and made two free throws to seal the game.

DETROIT (AP) — Tyrese Maxey scored 28 points and Philadelphia won their fourth game of the season by beating Detroit.
Jared McCain added 19 points and Ricky Council IV scored 17 for Philadelphia, which had lost seven of its previous eight games.
Malik Beasley had 19 points for the Pistons. Jaden Ivey had 15 points and Marcus Sasser scored 12. Simone Fontecchio had 11 rebounds for Detroit — the only player on either team to reach double figures in assists or rebounds.
BUCKS 124, WIZARDS 114
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo had 42 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in his return to Milwaukee’s lineup and the Bucks won their sixth in a row by beating struggling Washington.
Antetokounmpo had missed the Bucks’ 106-103 NBA Cup victory at Miami on Tuesday due to swelling in his left knee.
The two-time MVP has three triple-doubles in the last six games he has played.
Antetokounmpo had 22 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists in a 115-114 loss at Charlotte on Nov. 16. He had 37 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 129-117 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 22.
Damian Lillard added 25 points and 10 assists while Brook Lopez scored 18 points on Saturday.
Jordan Poole had 31 points Malcolm Brogdon added 29 points and 11 rebounds for the Wizards, who have lost 14 straight.
SUNS 113, WARRIORS 105
PHOENIX (AP) — Devin Booker scored 27 points, Kevin Durant added 21 and Phoenix beat Golden State.
Tyus Jones added 19 points and nine assists, making 7 of 9 shots, including 4 of 5 3-pointers. Grayson Allen added 17. The Suns made 18 of 35 (51.4%) shots from 3-point range.
Golden State has lost four in a row. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 23 points but shot just 8 of 20 from the field. Andrew Wiggins added 18 points while Draymond Green had 13 points.
The Warriors trailed by 17 at halftime but cut the margin to 85-78 by the start of the fourth quarter after Curry poured in 15 points. Golden State went on a 9-0 run late in the fourth quarter to pull within 105-99 but Durant made a 3-pointer with 1:42 left to turn back the rally.
The Suns led 66-49 at halftime after making 14 of 21 (66.7%) of their 3-pointers
