The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip had risen to 44,382, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Saturday.

In the past 24 hours, Israeli military operations in Gaza killed 19 people and injured 72 others, bringing the total number of injuries to 105,142, according to the statement.

The Israeli forces attacked many places in the Gaza Strip from Friday night to Saturday, killing at least 32 Palestinians, according to the Gaza-based health authorities.

Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported that three employees with the US-based food charity World Central Kitchen (WCK) were killed in a strike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Saturday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday that the target of the strike had participated in the October 7 attack on Israel and was currently an employee at the WCK.

The charity, which runs community kitchens in Gaza, paused its operations in Gaza after the attack.

According to reports from Palestinian media, Israeli forces launched strikes in Gaza City in northern Gaza and the Jabalia refugee camp in central Gaza on Saturday, killing dozens of people.

An airstrike in the Tal al-Zaatar area, northern Gaza killed at least 40 people, leaving a number of people still strapped under the rubble.

On Saturday morning, the Israeli forces stacked a rocket launch site in Deir Al-Balah, a humanitarian safe zone. Rockets were still fired from the area after the Israeli strike, but none of them reached the Israeli territory.

The Israeli forces have also continued to expand military operations in the occupied West Bank and arrest people there.

The IDF said in a statement on Saturday night that a soldier was killed in a fight in northern Gaza on Friday and three soldiers who were severely injured during military operations in northern and southern Gaza have been transferred to hospital. According to the IDF, a total of 807 Israeli soldiers were killed in the Gaza conflict since Oct 7, 2023.

The conflict has also taken a toll on media workers. The Gaza government media office announced on Saturday that one more journalist was killed during the Israeli strike, bringing the total number of journalists and media workers killed during the conflict to 191.

The launch of carrier rocket the Long March-12 on Saturday night marks the beginning of operations at China's first-ever commercial launch site and signifies a major milestone for the nation's space undertaking, according to experts.

The Saturday night launch was conducted at the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site on the southern island province of Hainan.

This launch marks the inaugural mission at China’s first commercial space launch site. It is also the maiden flight of the Long March-12 carrier rocket, China’s first four-meter-class launch vehicle and the country’s largest single-core launch vehicle to date.

The success of this mission has been celebrated by many who dream of exploring space.

"The success of the new service tower, the new rocket, as well as our new team and new mechanism, could be viewed as a milestone in the history of China's commercial space sector," said Liu Hongjian, president of the Hainan International Commercial Aerospace Launch (HICAL), which built and operates the launch site. "We took into account the rocket’s batch production and industrialization as we started to design it. That way we could quickly improve China’s efficiency in entering space," said Wu Jialin of the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, which developed the rocket.
