Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Koussay Aldahhak, said on Monday that Syria has filed a complaint with the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, calling for an end to Israel's aggression against Syria and for preventing Israel from benefiting from the regime change in Syria. Aldahhak said that the Syrian permanent mission to the UN and all Syrian embassies abroad have been instructed to continue their work during the transition period, and that the Syrian foreign minister is still performing his duty in Damascus.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on Monday that the Golan Heights will remain an integral part of Israel. With the support of Defense Minister Israel Katz and all members of the security cabinet, Netanyahu ordered the Israeli military to seize the buffer zone along Israel's border with Syria.

According to Russian media reports, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, said on Monday that Russia has noticed Israel's argument about the Golan Heights. He noted that Israel is now openly violating the buffer zone on its border with Syria, and Russia is not clear about which part of the Golan Heights Netanyahu believes belongs to Israel.

Nebenzia revealed that the UN Security Council discussed the necessity of drafting a document related to the situation in Syria during a closed-door consultation on Monday, and it may be released in the coming days.
