The Amateur Continuing Study Center, a vocational training institution in Macao, is helping local youth to find their posts in a society undergoing economic transformation and industrial diversification.

The center provides its trainees with courses tailored to the needs of society, enabling them to secure employment or start their own businesses.

Thanks to the training at the center, Lam Cheok Ieng has started her dream career of tailoring suit, even though she had no prior experience in the field.

"You can show your personality with clothing. Your outfit can tell others who you are. I think it's very interesting." said Lam.

"The center offers various courses. I learned clothing processing, photography and e-commerce. There are many different courses," she said.

Macao has always been committed to serving the youth in the city in employment, according to Lee Chong Cheng, chairman of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions.

"We initiated the career guidance programs to help people find new jobs, pursue upward mobility and gain greater sense of happiness," said Lee.

Training courses at the center offer the youth opportunities to grasp the development trend and experience new fields, according to trainees.

"I work in the beauty industry. I came here because I believe e-commerce is a future trend," said Sio Lai Ang, a trainee of the center.

"I work in finance. I want to learn more to broaden my horizons," said Lo In Ieng, another trainee. Tom Yang, a trainer at the center, launched a new course on e-commerce live streaming and short video marketing, which is popular among the trainees.

"I teach them how to use their mobile phones for e-commerce, tourism promotion, and even advertising," said Yang.

"I have learned a lot, such as how to take photos and set up scenes, and now it's time to put it into practice," said Lam Kit Peng, a trainee of Yang's course. Yang is exploring new directions for his profession. He is making a creative video featuring the New Eight Scenic Spots, highlighting the new landmarks of Macao.
