The industry scale of safety and emergency equipment enterprises in China has exceeded 780 billion yuan (about 107.1 million U.S. dollars), said Shan Zhongde, vice minister of industry and information technology, on Tuesday at the 2024 China Safety and Emergency Industry Conference in Gongguan City, south China's Guangdong Province.
China has established 26 safety and emergency industry bases across 17 provinces and created the first national advanced manufacturing cluster for safety and emergency equipment in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
As of now, the scale of key sectors in China's safety and emergency equipment industry has exceeded 780 billion yuan, a nearly 10 percent growth compared to last year. It is expected that by 2025, the industry could reach a trillion-yuan scale.
"With joint efforts from all sides, the number of safety and emergency equipment enterprises in China has exceeded 5,000, and the industry scale has surpassed 780 billion yuan, showing potential to be developed into a trillion-yuan new economic growth point," said Shan Zhongde.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that moving forward, safety and emergency equipment will be included as a key area for policy support within the strategic emerging industries, and the ministry will work to promote the coordinated development of the industry.
Efforts will focus on nurturing more "industry champions" and specialized, refined, unique, and innovative enterprises in the safety and emergency equipment sector. Additionally, the integration of innovation chains, industrial chains, financial chains, and talent chains will be actively promoted, the ministry said.
