Appointments to Advisory Committee on Arts Development announced

The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (CSTB) announced today (December 31) the reappointment of Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee as the Chairperson of the Advisory Committee on Arts Development (ACAD) and Miss Agnes Tang In-kwan as the Vice-Chairperson. The CSTB also announced the appointment and reappointment of members to ACAD for a two-year term from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026.

The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Miss Rosanna Law, said, "The reappointed and newly appointed members are all experienced in arts and culture. I look forward to their valuable advice on the work of ACAD to foster the development of arts and culture in Hong Kong."

Miss Law also thanked the outgoing members, Miss Cecilia Ho, Mr Chris Ip, Mr Danny Lee and Ms Helen So, for their contributions to ACAD.

ACAD advises the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism on matters relating to local arts development, including the subsidy under and operation of the Arts Capacity Development Funding Scheme, funding policies and strategies, the strategies for supporting the development of visual arts, the promotion of cultural exchange, the strengthening of cultural software, and other issues pertaining to the promotion of arts and culture in Hong Kong.

One more man arrested in connection with murder in Tuen Mun

Police arrested a 56-year-old man in Ngau Tau Kok last night (January 3) for murder. He was in suspected connection with a murder case happened in Tuen Mun on January 2, in which a 33-year-old man died.

Police arrested a 44-year-old woman for misleading police officers during investigation, in suspected connection with the case earlier.

The arrested persons are being detained for further enquiries.

Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun District is under way. Anyone who witnessed the case or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3661 5742.
