Facts have proven that the U.S. sanctions, an inhumane and domineering "tool", turn out to be ineffective in hindering Iran's development, said Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.

In an interview with China Media Group (CMG) on Dec. 28, Araghchi shared his insights on the sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States for over 40 years, noting that the country was forced to rely on its own for development.

"As you have said, sanctions are an inhumane and hegemonic 'tool' used by the United States and Western countries. These sanctions have been imposed on Iran for over 40 years, yet they have proven to be ineffective. Iran has paid a heavy price, yet the sanctions have compelled us to rely on our own capabilities for development. The advancements we have witnessed in Iran's nuclear energy, defense, industry, and other fields have all been achieved despite the sanctions. I would like to reiterate that while sanctions bring losses, pressure, and difficulties, they cannot, and will never, force the Iranian people to yield or abandon our dreams," said Araghchi.
