Lofts on the Square, LLC was envisioned by its developer Dr. Barbara DeVivo, who sought to blend the safe, small-town charm of historic downtown Arlington with modern, community-driven living. “With the recent development of the Forrest Street Park, The Crossing Amphitheater and walkable local businesses, I couldn’t imagine a better time and place to contribute to the growing, event-rich downtown living community. I am honored to have our building recognized. My family and I, along with the construction team wish to thank the Memphis Business Journal and everyone who voted for us.”

Dr. DeVivo credited a dedicated team for bringing the vision to life, including the Renaissance Group, who both designed and project-managed the build; owner’s representative Joe Pede; and Moss Carpenter Construction, who expertly delivered a complex design on a compact .22-acre lot. “I also consider the Arlington community a part of the team who made this project a success—public officials and committees offered support, and residents not only welcomed but embraced us with the genuine Southern hospitality that one can only receive in this magnificent town of Arlington. Without the community support, we would not be celebrating Lofts on the Square in this way,” she added.

Lofts on the Square is a boutique mixed-use property in the heart of Arlington's Historic Depot Square. It was meticulously designed by its architects at the Renaissance Group to merge historical features with a modern touch, bringing to life Dr. DeVivo’s vision to celebrate both the town's vibrant present and its promising future. The building features a finished office/studio space, three retail storefronts (one of which will house a walk-up ice cream shop), and three luxury apartments with oversized balconies that allow residents to truly immerse themselves in the Depot Square environment from the comfort of their own home.

“The team did a phenomenal job, and we are all very proud of it. I encourage everyone to come visit the Depot Square – enjoy the park, restaurants and shopping; see what makes this place special. We feel blessed to be a small part of this wonderful community,” Dr. DeVivo concluded.

THESSALONIKI, Greece (AP) — A woman was killed early Saturday in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki when a bomb she was carrying exploded in her hands, police said.

The 38-year-old woman apparently was carrying the bomb to place it outside a nearby bank around 5 a.m., police said.

Several storefronts and vehicles were damaged by the explosion.

The woman was known to authorities after taking part in several past robberies, according to police, who said they are investigating her possible ties to extreme leftist groups.
