SAN FRANCISCO et HAMBOURG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--avr. 16, 2025--

Lyft, Inc. (Nasdaq: LYFT), une entreprise leader dans la mobilité à la demande, a annoncé aujourd’hui avoir conclu un accord définitif avec le Groupe BMW et Mercedes-Benz Mobility, en vue d'acquérir FREENOW, la plateforme de mobilité européenne spécialisée dans la réservation de taxis, pour un montant en numéraire d’environ 175 millions d’euros ou 197 millions de dollars*. FREENOW poursuivra ses activités comme elle le fait aujourd'hui, avec son équipe de management et ses employés talentueux en place pour stimuler la croissance dans 9 pays et plus de 150 villes en Irlande, au Royaume-Uni, en Allemagne, en Grèce, en Espagne, en Italie, en Pologne, en France et en Autriche. La transaction devrait être finalisée au cours du second semestre 2025, sous réserve de la levée des conditions suspensives habituelles.

Lyft a trouvé en FREENOW un partenaire capable de stimuler sa stratégie de croissance, de développer ses partenariats et d'améliorer l'expérience des chauffeurs et des usagers. Il s'agit de l'opération de croissance externe la plus importante de Lyft en dehors de l'Amérique du Nord, doublant son marché potentiel pour atteindre plus de 300 milliards de trajets par an, augmentant ses facturations brutes annualisées d'environ 1 milliard d'euros, diversifiant les flux de revenus et soutenant ses objectifs pluriannuels.

FREENOW bénéficie d'une expertise de premier plan dans le domaine des taxis en Europe, d’une technologie de gestion de flottes et de solides relations avec les autorités de régulation, les syndicats et les exploitants de flottes de taxis sur chaque marché. Lyft apporte une expertise d’optimisation de marché de premier ordre et des fonctionnalités entièrement axées sur l’expérience utilisateur. Les deux entreprises sont complémentaires et, ensemble, desserviront plus de 50 millions d'utilisateurs par an, avec des objectifs visant à offrir une meilleure expérience produit, à améliorer les niveaux de service, à renforcer les capacités de gestion des flottes et à offrir des opportunités globales aux partenaires existants et futurs.

En Europe, l'activité de réservation de taxis en ligne est en forte croissance. Environ 50 % des réservations de taxis en Europe se font encore hors ligne, mais la demande des utilisateurs pour les réservations en ligne ne cessent de croître. FREENOW est parfaitement positionnée pour capitaliser sur cette opportunité. FREENOW est la première plateforme de taxis dans plusieurs grandes villes européennes, notamment Dublin, Londres, Athènes, Berlin, Barcelone, Madrid et Hambourg, les véhicules haut de gamme constituant une part importante de sa flotte. Les taxis représentaient environ 90 % des réservations brutes de FREENOW en 2024 et continueront à être l'épine dorsale de son activité.

Cette acquisition stratégique s'inscrit dans le cadre de la stratégie rigoureuse de Lyft en matière d'allocation de capital, qui consiste à investir dans des opportunités de croissance attractives et une orientation résolument centrée sur l’utilisateur. Cette annonce fait suite à une année 2024 record pour Lyft, avec des niveaux de service inégalés au quatrième trimestre, un chiffre d’affaires record, un résultat net positif, ainsi qu’une génération de flux de trésorerie sans précédent.

Prochaines étapes

S’il n’y aura pas de changements immédiats dans l'expérience client, au fil du temps, de nouveaux avantages seront mis à la disposition des chauffeurs et des usagers de FREENOW. Pour les chauffeurs de nombreux marchés, cela pourra se traduire par une plus grande transparence de leurs revenus, notamment en ce qui concerne les bonus et les informations en temps réel sur les meilleurs moments pour conduire. Pour les usagers, cela pourra se traduire par une tarification plus cohérente, une mise en relation plus rapide, de nouvelles fonctionnalités et de nouveaux modes de transport. Les deux entreprises se concentreront également sur l'intégration des applications afin que les usagers puissent utiliser l'une ou l'autre application de manière transparente de part et d'autre de l'Atlantique, qu'ils se trouvent en Amérique du Nord ou en Europe.
