The first phase of the 137th edition of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, concluded on Saturday with over 148,000 overseas buyers from 216 countries and regions in attendance.
Held from Tuesday to Saturday, the phase focused on advanced manufacturing and drew participation from over 11,000 enterprises, among which 5,100 were "little giant" enterprises that use special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, those that have been awarded individual manufacturing champion, and those named national high-tech enterprises. This marks an increase of about 900 enterprises from the last edition.
Global buyers in attendance expressed their approval of the innovative products showcased at the event, noting their willingness to build cooperative partnerships with Chinese suppliers.
"I think it's amazing, beyond that it's huge, I think that it's high technology exposure and all these players are really good. I think anything about the AI technologies are very impressive nowadays. So, I think it's a good opportunity for every business worldwide to have very good business partners," said Ituralde Ricardo, a buyer from Mexico.
"I'm very impressed with the products that I have seen today. I feel that there could be a really good relationship that we could grow with your company. There are other options that we see on the floor that we can implement into our product, and then we can look at opportunities in the future," said James, a buyer from Canada.
The 137th edition of the Canton Fair is taking place from April 15 to May 5 in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.
The second phase, scheduled to run from April 23 to 27, will spotlight quality home furnishings. During this five-day event, three primary categories of exhibits will be on display: building materials and furniture, household products, and gifts and decorations.
