A primary school in New Taipei, Taiwan, is home to a dog named "Little White Socks", who was discovered on the streets by students six years ago, and was brought back to the school, where it became very popular among students.

"Little White Socks" lived on campus, where its popularity was both a blessing and a curse: while it meant that the doggy had plenty to eat, it also meant it might've had a bit too much to eat, thus becoming fat and overweight.
When netizens saw the photos, some joked, "I thought it was a cow at first glance!" For its health, the school has even sent out notices to the teachers and students to stop overfeeding "Little White Socks"!

The mixed-breed dog "Little White Socks" is the spiritual mascot of the Cultural National Elementary School in Danshui District, New Taipei City. Originally a stray dog, it has now been "promoted" to the status of a campus dog and is responsible for guarding the campus gates and to act as a stress-relief for the students. It now struts around the classrooms and playground on its own accord.

"Little White Socks" was discovered 6 years ago by students under a car near the campus. It was then only a few months old and was officially adopted to join the school's extended family.

However, while the doggy is truly adorable, overfeeding is now becoming an increasingly large problem. Netizens who saw the picture of the dog suggested that "A small sign should be erected to remind students not to feed the dog", while others recommended it to get some more exercise. The school committee also urged students and teachers not to feed the dog, and have teachers bring to the dog to the vet for a thorough physical examination and exercise.

Overweight dogs are known to have a much shorter life-span than normal-weighted dogs, and they are also more likely to suffer from arthritis, diabetes and other obesity-related disorders. So for the sake of "Little White Socks", students and teachers must show restraint with their feeding!
