Zhao, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said that since the establishment of China-Peru comprehensive strategic partnership in 2013, the two sides have further consolidated political mutual trust and expanded practical cooperation.

The recent adoption of the decision by the Peruvian Congress on designating February 1 of every year as the Peru-China Fraternity Day once again shows that enhancing China-Peru friendship is the consensus of all circles in the country, said Zhao.

He stressed that China is willing to strengthen mutual support and deepen cooperation with Peru to promote the in-depth development of China-Peru and China-Latin America relations.

The NPC of China is willing to work with the Peruvian Congress to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen exchanges at all levels, share experience on national governance and legislation, and create a sound legal environment for bilateral cooperation, said Zhao.

Boluarte said Peru and China enjoy a long history of friendship, and the Chinese community is an important part of Peru's diverse society.

Peru is willing to strengthen exchanges between the legislative bodies of the two sides, provide a sound legal environment for bilateral practical cooperation and continuously push forward the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, said the president.
