A flurry of activities were held up and down China on Monday to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

In Heihe City of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, the staff members of the Heihe Highway Port held a flag-raising ceremony to pledge allegiance to the CPC.

In Qinhuangdao City of north China's Hebei Province, 1,000 armed police officers re-took their oath on being admitted to the CPC.

"Today, I wear the Party emblem and I will always remember my solemn oath sworn under the CPC flag to pledge my loyalty to the Party and turn the oath into actions," said Zhang Longzhan, an armed police officer.

At the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, tourists from across the country chorused to express their love and best wishes to the Party on this occasion.

In Yunyang County of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Party officials, members of the Communist Youth League and young pioneers also took their oath again and sang together to mark the occasion.

According to a statistical report released by the Party on Sunday, the CPC boasts more than 99.18 million members at the end of 2023, up by over 1.14 million from 2022.

The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 37,925, health authorities in the Palestinian enclave said in a statement on Tuesday.

Additionally, more than 87,100 people had been wounded in the besieged strip since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out in October 2023, health authorities said.

The Israeli army killed 25 people and wounded 81 others in the past 24 hours, according to the statement.

Also on Tuesday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement announcing that Israeli forces conducted a new round of airstrikes in the southern Gaza Strip's Khan Yunis from Monday evening to the early hours of Tuesday.

Local Palestinian media reported that Israeli forces launched airstrikes in multiple locations in the Gaza Strip on that day, resulting in casualties and injuries to several people.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the IDF, their airstrikes targeting Khan Yunis included Hamas militant weapons depots, residential areas, and other infrastructure facilities.

At least 12 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting an apartment in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said on Tuesday.

As Israeli forces continue to advance its ground operation on the Gaza Strip, the divisions between the Israeli government and the military are increasingly becoming public.

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement refuting claims by Israeli military officers and reaffirming that “the war will end once Israel achieves all of its objectives”.

On the same day, Netanyahu issued a strong condemnation in a statement regarding a previous article in The New York Times. The article quoted several anonymous Israeli military officers saying that Israel was willing to reach a ceasefire agreement with Hamas without achieving all objectives, stating that ceasefire was the best way to secure the release of detained individuals.
