"The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping" Season 3, a multilingual TV program produced by China Media Group, aired in Kazakhstan on Tuesday, receiving wide attention and warm response from various walks of life in the Central Asian country

Featuring quotes from ancient Chinese classics used by Chinese President Xi Jinping in his speeches and articles, the Kazakh version of the program began airing after President Xi's arrival in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, for the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and his state visit.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory message to the program's broadcast.

"The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping" focuses on themes including common prosperity, ecological protection, and cultural diversity. Selected from the original speeches and quotes from ancient Chinese classics used by Xi to elaborate on ancient Chinese stories and wisdom, the TV program presents to the audience the profound cultural foundation for the Chinese path to modernization.

A broadcast ceremony was held in Astana on Tuesday. Kazakh attendees believe the program will help local audiences better understand President Xi's thoughts and practices on governing the country, as well as the wisdom of ancient Chinese scholars and philosophers, and it will significantly boost friendly exchanges and mutual understanding between people of the two countries.

The program will be aired on mainstream TV channels such as Silk Road TV and Atameken TV under the Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

One of Kazakhstan's most influential newspapers, Kazakhstanskaya Pravda, featured a front-page announcement on the local broadcast of the program.

Nearly 100 mainstream media in Asia, Europe and the world also reported the broadcast, such as "Kazakhstan Today" news agency, Lada Kazakhstan News network and Uzbekistan Nuz network.

Senior Kazakh officials including Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva and Vice-Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerkinbayev Yerzhan Malikovich, other well-known figures from Kazakhstan's political, economic, media, and academic circles and representatives of Chinese institutions in Kazakhstan attended the broadcast ceremony.

China supports development of future industries: MIIT

2024-07-05 19:58 Last Updated At:20:17

China encourages and supports enterprises to cultivate future industries, unleash new growth momentum and seek first-mover advantages, said Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, at a press conference in Beijing on Friday.

Future industries refer to new industries integrated with advanced technology, such as metaverse, humanoid robots, brain-computer interface and quantum information.

A new guideline, unveiled by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and six other government departments in January, emphasized seizing global trends in sci-tech revolution and industrial transformation, with a particular focus on six key directions: future manufacturing, future information, future materials, future energy, future space and future health.

At present, China's strategic emerging industries account for 13 percent of GDP, with huge potential for growth.

The guideline set the goals of fostering a batch of leading enterprises in emerging industries such as new materials, artificial intelligence, intelligent connected new-energy vehicles, new energy storage, hydrogen energy, biomanufacturing, commercial spaceflight, and low-altitude economy.

"In the next step, centering around the six directions, we will focus on the fields of humanoid robots, brain-computer interfaces, metaverse, next-generation Internet, 6G, quantum technology, atomically precise manufacturing, deep-sea exploration and space development, carry out a batch of projects for sci-tech development, make breakthroughs in a number of key core technologies, come up with a wealth of signature products or outcomes, and set up a group of future industry incubators," said Jin.
