China and Thailand opened a joint exercise named "Falcon Strike-2024" at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base (UdornRTAFB) in Thailand on Monday.

Fighter jets, fighter-bombers, helicopters and various equipment and special operations units from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) participated in the exercise.

The joint training exercise consists of five phases: cross-border support, forces deployment, joint air defense, joint strike, and review and discussion. It aims to strengthen the military cooperation between China and Thailand and facilitate their response to common security challenges.

At an opening ceremony on Sunday, a Chinese commander on the joint drill said that he believes that with the continuous advancement of the joint training, the technical and tactical level of the two sides will be further improved and the friendly cooperative relations will be further deepened.

A Thai commander said that the joint training will maintain and enhance mutual trust and friendship between the air forces of Thailand and China, and continuously expand and deepen cooperation.
