China will take all necessary measures to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of China's industries and enterprises, said a spokesperson with the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday, as the country has launched countermeasures and investigations on imported EU products.

In accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and in compliance with WTO rules, China on Tuesday decided to implement temporary anti-dumping measures on imports of relevant brandy originating from the EU.

China is currently conducting anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on products including pork, pork by-products, and dairy products imported from the EU in accordance with the law to fully protect the rights of all stakeholders and make objective and fair decisions based on the investigation results, said the spokesperson.

Meanwhile, China is also studying measures to raise tariffs on imported large-displacement fuel vehicles, said the spokesperson.
