A senior Iranian military adviser warned on Wednesday that Iran will respond fiercely if Israel conducts strikes in response to Iranian missile attack on Oct. 1, while Israel stated that its strikes against Iran will be "lethal, precise, and especially surprising."
Ebrahim Jabari, an adviser to the chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, said in Iran's large-scale missile attack on Israel on Oct. 1, Iranian missiles penetrated Israel's defense system and hit targets, resulting in the destruction of about 20 Israeli military aircraft.
If Israel retaliates to attack any single Iranian facility, Iran will target dozens of Israeli security, military, and economic centers in response, said Jabari.
Also on Wednesday, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated that Iran will respond to any Israeli attack by hitting either military or non-military targets in Israel. Iran has enough missiles and capabilities to deliver a strong response, he said.
Rezaei also urged the United States to stop military aid to Israel and to facilitate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Since Iran's missile attack on Oct. 1, Israel has vowed to retaliate, claiming to strike Iranian oil facilities. Iran, on the other hand, has repeatedly stated its readiness with various responses.
According to a report from The Times of Israel on Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, during his visit to the Israeli military intelligence unit, stated that Israel's strikes against Iran will be "lethal, precise, and particularly surprising."
Gallant emphasized that during Iran's attack on Oct. 1, the Israeli Air Force did not suffer any damage, all runways were operating normally, and there were no injuries to soldiers or civilians.
