Israeli forces continued escalating attacks in the northern Gaza Strip, resulting in a mass exodus of residents.

The Israeli occupation army launched a large-scale military operation in the northern Gaza Strip. Israeli tanks invaded the city of Jabalia and imposed a complete siege on it, displacing thousands of Palestinians.

Many Palestinian families were trapped in their homes inside the camp, under the impact of violent air strikes and continuous artillery shelling, while some families were able to escape to Gaza City in extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.

"The fire on us was very intense from tanks, helicopters and random artillery shelling. At the same time, four or five schools in Saftawy area sheltering displaced people were directly targeted. The bodies of the dead were lying on the ground everywhere, all of that happened within 15 minutes, thousands of displaced people were fleeing under fire," said Abdullah Badran, a displaced resident from northern Gaza.

Israeli forces have ordered civilians in Jabalia, Beit Hanoun and nearby Beit Lahia to evacuate to the area southward, saying intelligence indicates that Hamas is trying to "rebuild its operational capabilities" in the area.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said Israeli forces are surrounding Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia and have ordered patients and medical staff to evacuate from the hospital, as well as the nearby Indonesian Hospital and Al-Awda Hospital.

"Israeli occupation forces insist on evacuating 30 patients from the intensive care unit and other patients in the children's incubators who need critical medical care, but the occupation army insists on getting them out. There are approximately 250 hospital workers, all of whom are now under Israeli threats of either killing or arrest," said Marwan Al-Hamas, director of Field Hospitals.

Philippe Lazzarini, commissioner-general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said "there is no end to hell" in northern Gaza, in response to renewed Israeli evacuation orders for Palestinians from the northern Gaza Strip.

UNRWA said the intense military operations in the north had forced it to halt life-saving services, with seven UN schools being evacuated and converted into shelters, while only two of eight water wells in Jabalia camp, home to some 400,000 Palestinian civilians, were still functioning.
