Cai Qi, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held talks with Luong Cuong, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and permanent member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Friday.
Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, said General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary To Lin reached an important consensus on promoting the construction of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, which identified the direction for the development of relations between the two parties and the two countries in the next stage. China is willing to take practical measures with Vietnam to implement the above important consensus, he said.
Cai noted that China regards Vietnam as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and a fellow traveler along the socialist path, and is willing to work with Vietnam to uphold the principles of "long-term stability, future orientation, good-neighborly friendship and all-round cooperation," seeing each other as a "good neighbor, good friend, good comrade and good partner," to jointly create broad prospects for the socialist cause.
Cai said the two sides should to carry forward the tradition of high-level exchanges, enhance political mutual trust, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in governing the country and jointly improve the ability and level of governance.
Vietnam and China should strengthen practical cooperation, achieve development of integrated interests, continue the traditional friendship of "comrades and brothers" and jointly write a new chapter of good-neighborly friendship. The two countries should also implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind, Cai said.
Cuong said that Vietnam is willing to work with China to give full play to the leading role of inter-party channels in Vietnam-China relations and implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries. Vietnam will work with China to promote high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen strategic communication, improve the synergy and connectivity of development strategies and promote exchanges and cooperation to achieve new results in the fields of economy, trade and culture, and at local levels.
Vietnam is ready to work with the Chinese side to deepen people-to-people friendship, plan celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, carry forward the traditional friendship of being both comrades and brothers, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for Vietnam and China.
Vietnam is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation with China and make greater contributions to regional and world peace and development, he said.
