Cai Qi, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held talks with Luong Cuong, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and permanent member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Friday.

Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, said General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary To Lin reached an important consensus on promoting the construction of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, which identified the direction for the development of relations between the two parties and the two countries in the next stage. China is willing to take practical measures with Vietnam to implement the above important consensus, he said.

Cai noted that China regards Vietnam as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and a fellow traveler along the socialist path, and is willing to work with Vietnam to uphold the principles of "long-term stability, future orientation, good-neighborly friendship and all-round cooperation," seeing each other as a "good neighbor, good friend, good comrade and good partner," to jointly create broad prospects for the socialist cause.

Cai said the two sides should to carry forward the tradition of high-level exchanges, enhance political mutual trust, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in governing the country and jointly improve the ability and level of governance.

Vietnam and China should strengthen practical cooperation, achieve development of integrated interests, continue the traditional friendship of "comrades and brothers" and jointly write a new chapter of good-neighborly friendship. The two countries should also implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind, Cai said.

Cuong said that Vietnam is willing to work with China to give full play to the leading role of inter-party channels in Vietnam-China relations and implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries. Vietnam will work with China to promote high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen strategic communication, improve the synergy and connectivity of development strategies and promote exchanges and cooperation to achieve new results in the fields of economy, trade and culture, and at local levels.

Vietnam is ready to work with the Chinese side to deepen people-to-people friendship, plan celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, carry forward the traditional friendship of being both comrades and brothers, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for Vietnam and China.

Vietnam is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation with China and make greater contributions to regional and world peace and development, he said.

Macao has been emerging as a global hub for conventions and exhibitions in recent years by exploring the enormous opportunities in the sector, driving the region to advance its economic diversification and embrace a brighter future.

Macao has received many awards this year, such as the Best Convention City (Asia) and the Best BT-MICE City, showcasing the recognition for and influence of Macao's exhibition industry.

More than 1,000 electronic game enthusiasts from all over the world gathered recently in Macao to participate in a esports themed event.

Su Zhili, organizer of the event, said that Macao's rich experience in hosting large-scale events, coupled with its good infrastructure, has driven him to choose the region as an ideal destination to hold such an activity.

"Macao has held many similar large-scale events. It has rich experience, and the facilities at the venue are relatively mature, so we can start our work comfortably," said Su.

During the first three quarters of 2024, Macao held more than 1,000 conferences and exhibitions in total.

"We will invite more professional, special conferences to be held in Macao and also cultivate more exhibition brands with international influence in Macao, so as to promote Macao's exhibitions to be more market-oriented, professional, international, digital and greener from various aspects. This is our goal," said Elaine Wong, member of the Macao Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute.

In addition, multiple large exhibitions and conferences, such as the Macao International Trade and Investment fair, the Macao Franchise Expo, and the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum, are held regularly in Macao.

With the introduction of a series of policies and measures to facilitate the exchanges between the mainland and Macao, as well as the construction and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Macao's convention and exhibition industry will embrace more opportunities for development in the foreseeable future.

"We have such a good industrial base in the Greater Bay Area. The mode of 'Convention and Exhibition + Industry' not only integrates the industries of Macao, but also the industries of the Greater Bay Area. In addition, Macao actively integrates into the national development and plays a role in the Belt and Road. Why are we so confident in Macao's convention and exhibition sector? Because it is backed by the motherland, and the country gives Macao great support," said Alan Ho, chairman of the Macao Association of Convention, Exhibition and Tourism Sectors.
