Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Apple CEO Tim Cook in Beijing on Friday, saying that the tech giant is welcome to maintain stable cooperation with Chinese partners to achieve common development.

The two sides exchanged views on the development of Apple's business in China and on China-U.S. economic and trade relations at the meeting.

"If I remember correctly, this is our fourth meeting in Beijing. I hope that the frequent meetings between us could help you grow better in China and be conducive to pushing China-U.S. economic and trade relations back onto the track of normal, steady and sound development," said Wang.

Cook said China's rapid development helps Apple achieve fast and sustainable growth.

"I've been coming to China for almost 30 years. Seeing the country grow and it's been an economic miracle. With China's growth, Apple has grown as well. And it's a great example of win-win cooperation," he said.

The company will continue to serve as a bridge for communication and exchanges between China and the United States in the economic and trade field, Cook added.
