International observers praised Chinese President Xi Jinping's influential speech at the BRICS Plus leaders' dialogue in Kazan, the capital city of western Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, noting that it offers an in-depth view of China's commitment to unity and cooperation within the Global South, underscoring the country's sense of responsibility.

They said his remarks aim to unite and guide Global South countries as they pursue modernization together.

In his Thursday speech at the BRICS Plus dialogue, part of the 16th BRICS Summit, Xi described the collective rise of the Global South as a defining feature of the world’s great transformation.

The speech, themed “Combining the Great Strength of the Global South to Build Together a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind,” emphasized unity and cooperation among developing countries.

He said the collective march of Global South countries toward modernization is monumental in world history and unprecedented in the course of human civilization.

Xi said that Global South countries should harness their collective wisdom and strength and embrace their responsibility to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

"President Xi Jinping pointed out in his speech that the Global South should become a stabilizing factor in consolidating global peace and security, as well as a promoter of exchange among different civilizations," said Andrey Denisov, first deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation.

Zambian economist Trevor Hambayi highlighted the collective approach advocated in the speech, noting significant progress, including 20 billion U.S. dollars invested in 1,100 development projects.

"What he has stated in terms of his speech, he has clearly indicated that this approach should be one that is collective in terms of the approach that we are taking. What you find is that there's very positive development in terms of the development initiative where 20 billion U.S. dollars has gone into 1,100 projects," said Hambayi.

"And all these initiatives of President Xi Jinping, I think, are going to serve not only BRICS but also the rest of the world. As BRICS acquires more and more economic and political influence in the world, the idea of BRICS -- as President Xi Jinping says -- as green, inclusive, and committed to world peace is a great vision," said Carlos Aquino Rodriguez, professor at San Marcos National University in Peru.

Global experts noted that Xi’s series of key ideas contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to advancing global modernization. They highlighted that China’s approach to modernization brings new vitality and momentum to the shared development of both the Global South and the world at large.

"The speech of President Xi was waited for from all media all over the world. The three great initiatives of China -- about global development, about global security, and again about global civilization -- that’s about these concrete initiatives; they are something like future steps not only for BRICS but also for all peaceful people all over the world," said Zahari Zahariev, chairman of the Bulgaria National Association for the Belt and Road.
