Hongqiao Int'l Economic Forum explores high-standard opening up for global common good

The 7th Hongqiao International Economic Forum, an important part of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), held multiple sub-forums at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Tuesday, exploring high-standard opening up for global common good.

Under the theme of "High-Standard Opening up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization," the forum features a main forum and 19 sub-forums under "1 plus 4" sections, which are the Press Release and International Symposium on World Openness Report 2024 and parallel sessions under Opening-up for Development, Opening-up for Cooperation, Opening-up for Innovation and Opening-up for Sharing.

Under the Opening-up for Development session, two sub-forums titled "Industrial Development and Sustainable Cities: Innovative and Inclusive Synergy Strategy" and "Sustainable Development of Global South and China-Africa Cooperation" were held on Tuesday.

Under the Opening-up for Cooperation session, two sub-forums titled "China and 30 Years of the WTO: History and Evolution" and "International Cooperation on Standards for High-Quality Development of the Manufacturing Industry" were held.

While, three sub-forums were held under the Opening-up for Innovation, titled "Artificial Intelligence Empowering New Industrialization", "New Energy Storage Driving Future Energy Transformation" and "Digital Finance Boosting Global Economic and Trade Development".

The Press Release and International Symposium on World Openness Report 2024 was also held on Tuesday. The report presents a panoramic view of the latest global opening up situation and the progress and setbacks of countries in opening up, aiming to build further consensus on opening up and promote common opening up worldwide.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic in Shanghai on Tuesday.

Vucevic is in the Chinese city to attend the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) that opened on the same day.

Li recalled President Xi Jinping's historic state visit to Serbia in May, during which he held fruitful talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and guided China-Serbia relations onto a new path of building a community with a shared future in the new era.

China is willing to work with Serbia to further implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continuously deepen political trust, foster closer unity and collaboration, strengthen the alignment between the Belt and Road Initiative and the "Leap into the Future - Serbia 2027" plan, and advance the two countries' cooperation in various fields to a new level so as to promote the high-quality development of China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era, Li said.

Vucevic reaffirmed Serbia's commitment to the one-China principle, and expressed the wish to strengthen high-level exchanges with China.

He also expressed Serbia's commitment to deepening practical cooperation in various fields within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative to continuously advance the construction of the Serbia-China community with a shared future.
