China Media Group's (CMG) state of the art broadcast helicopter arrived in the port city of Zhuhai in south China's Guangdong Province on Wednesday for the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, or Airshow China.
Making its debut at the airshow, CMG's helicopter, dubbed the "flying TV studio," is equipped for live program production and transmission. The helicopter has previously been used for major live broadcasts of national celebrations, including the military parade marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
This year, the helicopter will be featured at the Airshow and will contribute unique aerial coverage to special programs broadcast from the event.
"This time, we are here for the aerial photography mission at the Zhuhai Airshow. The helicopter is equipped with 4K/8K HD cameras. The cabin has five seats for the director, guest, host, aerial photographer, and microwave communication personnel, forming a flying broadcast studio that captures the excitement of the Zhuhai Airshow from different angles in the sky," said Hua Kexiang, captain of the CMG helicopter.
The air show, scheduled for Nov. 12-17, opens right after the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force, which falls on Nov 11.
