The test flight for a new helicopter route between Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong Province and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was successfully run on Wednesday.
The helicopter route will shorten the travel time between the two cities from over 1.5 hours to 15 minutes.
The new route, linking Shenzhen Nantou Heliport and Hong Kong International Airport, is the first helicopter route between the two cities. The test flight marks a major step towards establishing regular helicopter flights between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
The test flight was operated with an EC175B helicopter capable of carrying up to ten passengers with two crew members.
