Xi arrives at Peru's Government Palace for welcome ceremony held by President Boluarte

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived at Peru's Government Palace in Lima on Thursday to attend a welcome ceremony held by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte.

President Xi arrived in Peru on Thursday to attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, and pay a state visit to the Latin American country at the invitation of President Boluarte.

The 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held on Friday and Saturday in Peru's capital Lima.

After attending the APEC meeting and completing his state visit to Peru, President Xi will travel to Rio de Janeiro from Nov 17 to 21 to attend the 19th G20 Summit and pay a state visit to Brazil at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Xi attends welcome ceremony hosted by Peruvian president

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday attended a grand welcome ceremony hosted by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte in Peru's capital Lima.

Escorted by a cavalry regiment and a motorcycle squad, President Xi's motorcade arrived at the Government Palace, the official residence of the president of Peru, where Xi was warmly greeted by President Boluarte.

Xi and Boluarte shook hands with each other's accompanying officials and exchanged greetings.

The two heads of state reviewed the guard of honor.

A military band played the Chinese and Peruvian national anthems at the ceremony.

Xi arrived in Peru earlier in the day to pay a state visit to Peru and attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, which is scheduled on Friday and Saturday in Lima.
