Technologies and products ensuring the safety of new energy vehicles (NEVs) have become most sought-after at the ongoing 22nd Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition, as China's NEV industry reached an annual output of over 10 million units.

The exhibition will run from Friday until November 24, showcasing 78 new models from global and domestic manufacturers for the first time. A total of 1,171 vehicles will be on display, including 512 NEVs.

During the exhibition, exhibitors have showcased cutting-edge innovations in NEV safety, with particular emphasis on vehicle architecture, chassis, and battery integration.

One key demonstration was the water immersion test, which showcased the vehicle's resilience and safety under extreme conditions.

"Next year, we will launch our first electric vehicle and conduct quality verification for over 1 million kilometers," said Qi Xiaohui, deputy general manager of Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd.

Electrical safety is a critical focus for NEVs. Gao Jidong, general manager of the New Energy Inspection Center at the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, said that the 2025 New Energy Vehicle Electrical Safety Technology System will expand to include 13 new testing items, covering areas such as fast-charging safety and electromagnetic compatibility.

To further support consumer confidence, the Center also launched the China New Energy Vehicle Safety Information Platform, which provides detailed data on electromagnetic protection, charging speed, and overall electrical safety.
