Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang met respectively with Vice President of Honduras Renato Florentino, Vice President of Zambia Mutale Nalumango and Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Le Thanh Long on Tuesday afternoon in Wuzhen Town, east China’s Zhejiang Province.
Ding, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with these senior officials on the sidelines of the 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit scheduled for Nov 19-22.
At the meeting with Florentino, Ding said that the political decision made by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Honduran President Iris Xiomara Castro Sarmiento to establish diplomatic relations between China and Honduras is in line with the fundamental interests of the two countries and their people.
China is willing to work with Honduras in accordance with the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, firmly support each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns, strengthen the coordination of development strategies, and deepen practical cooperation in various fields, so as to create a better future for China-Honduras relations, Ding said.
Florentino said that the establishment of diplomatic relations between Honduras and China is of historic significance. Honduras firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is willing to strengthen win-win cooperation with China to promote the steady and long-term development of bilateral relations.
When meeting with Nalumango, Ding noted that China and Zambia are comprehensive strategic partners of traditional friendship. The two sides have always treated each other as equals, united and helped each other, and worked hand in hand, becoming a model of China-Africa cooperation and of solidarity and cooperation in the Global South, he said.
China is willing to work with Zambia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, deepen cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, minerals and other fields, and elevate China-Zambia relations to a higher level, Ding added.
Nalumango said that the Zambia-China relations have continued to make new progress. She thanked China for its valuable support for Zambia's development and said that Zambia is willing to comprehensively deepen cooperation with China to promote better development of Zambia-China and Africa-China relations.
When meeting with Le Thanh Long, Ding said that China and Vietnam are both socialist countries and friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, and are good friends, good comrades and good partners.
Noting that next year will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, he said that China is willing to work with Vietnam to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, consolidate political mutual trust, strengthen cooperation in areas such as connectivity, trade and investment, and information technology, comprehensively promote the construction of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, and bring more tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.
Le Thanh Long expressed his congratulations on China's great achievements in reform and opening up. Vietnam is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with China, enhance practical cooperation, and work together to bring bilateral relations to a higher level, he said.
