The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon in the latest round of Israel-Hezbollah conflict that broke out on Oct 8, 2023 climbed to 3,583, with injuries rising to 15,244, said Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health on Thursday.
On Thursday alone, 25 people were killed and 121 were injured in the conflict, the ministry reported.
Israeli troops launched a violent assault on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Thursday. Thick plumes of smoke billowed from multiple locations, accompanied by loud explosions. The southern Lebanese city of Tyre, along with several villages in southern Lebanon, also came under attack.
According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Israeli military conducted multiple airstrikes on Thursday targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. The strikes hit key infrastructure, including Hezbollah's command center, arsenal, and other facilities.
On Thursday, Hezbollah fired rockets and drones at Israel, striking various targets, including an assembly point for Israeli soldiers. They also launched a rocket attack on the northern Israeli city of Nahariya, which resulted in the death of one civilian.
In addition, Hezbollah said, its militants attacked an airbase east of Ashdod.
